![]() ![]() I reinstalled MultiMC and confirmed my Microsoft account information was correct. I want to use MultiMC to host modded games on LAN, or through a hamachi artificial LAN. Why do different launchers enable or disable different connections? We can each see an update when the other individual starts a LAN game, but neither one of us can join the other. However, if I launch through MultiMC and they launch through Microsoft, our LAN connection times out before it can be established. We are in the same location using the same wifi network and there are not issues. When my friend launches Minecraft java edition 1.19.4 through Microsoft launcher, and I also launch through microsofts launcher, we are easily able to connect to a LAN game hosted on either one of our machines. What could be causing variable performance? I checked that I am running the same version, and they are both running Java edition. Im not giving you pirated launchers for sure. Its possible to log in to a Mojang account using MultiMC, without even opening a browser, whereas to log in to a Microsoft account a browser is needed to run JavaScript from Microsoft. When I launch a 1.19.4 instance through MultiMC, the performance is noticeably worse than when I launch a 1.19.4 instance through the standard Microsoft Minecraft launcher. Yes, the account system isnt open-source, but it never was to begin with anyways.I loaded a 1.19.4 installation on both, and my friend did the same. I downloaded MultiMC as well as the standard Microsoft distributed launcher. ![]() Trying to play vanilla minecraft with someone. now it runs off my graphics card, not my CPU. I went to graphics settings, added an entry for the corresponding javaw.exe file, and set it to high performance. Performance was low when running through multimc because java was running off the wrong graphics processor. How do I change which graphics processor is displaying the game?Įdit3: figured it out. This is almost certainly the cause of the performance dip. When I run with the Microsoft launcher, the game runs off my NVIDIA 3080. I will do more tests to try to find the culprit.Įdit2: For some reason, when I launch with MultiMC, the game runs from my CPU integrated graphics. Unfortunately, performance is still reduced when using the MultiMC launcher instead of the Microsoft launcher. I added more permissions, reactivated the firewall, and we were able to connect. By turning off the firewall briefly, we were able to get a LAN connection working. Edit1: The LAN issue was related to Microsoft firewall. ![]()
